Doing Good Fellows is an internet-based global platform that helps Non-Profits solve their challenges through professionals who want to donate their skills online. The skill sets and networks of these professionals are within NGO’s reach for free of cost.
The projects are typically 2 –12 weeks in duration in the fields of Law, Engineering, Operations, Technology, Healthcare, Design, Marketing, Social Media etc. Also, fellows have choice of putting as many hours they are willing on the project unless specifically requested by the NGO and confirmed by the fellow.
We help organizations identify needs as short-term and individual-based projects. Our projects are structured in this way to make it easy for professionals to help in the midst of their busy daily lives.
Some of the examples of types of projects undertaken by Doing Good Fellows
The idea came up while working on a social design project in Stanford University – India had enough and more people who want to do good, but not necessarily through donations, nor volunteering during their busy schedules. Hence, why not use all their expertise and networks in helping people who want to do good (non profits) solve their toughest challenges. The open access to reach out to anyone and seek help on any topic remarkably eases the Social Ecosystem. Together, the people and their networks become our asset, hence aptly calling them “Fellows”.
Doing Good Fellows is a service run by its fellows and functions according to the inputs of its fellows. The team merely facilitates this. At the end of every month, we take in feedback and inputs from our fellows and shape the service accordingly – making it an adaptive service.
The simple philosophy of this idea:
“If someone wants to do good in this world, the universe should conspire to make it happen”. We aim to build that universe.
To create a more efficient and effective social impact ecosystem using technology
